Rates are valid-emails-found rates from our email finder benchmark. Emails found marked estimated have no measured overlap data for that provider, so we assume a small unique contribution. Edit any number you disagree with. Prices as of Aug 2026.

How the model works

A waterfall sends each row to your cheapest provider first, then passes only the unfound rows down the chain. Order and cutoff decide most of your cost.

Cheapest per found email goes first

Each provider's true cost is its cost per found email: the sticker price for tools that charge per found email, price divided by find rate for tools that charge per attempt.

Each added provider finds fewer new emails than the one before, at a higher cost per email

Providers overlap heavily, so step two only gets credit for emails step one missed. We model that overlap from our benchmark, measured where we have it.

Know when to stop

When a provider's cost per added email climbs to several times your blended cost, it is buying you almost nothing. The calculator draws that line for you.

Where the numbers come from

Find rates marked as benchmark come from our published email finder benchmark: the same contact list run through every tool, with every found email re-verified live, so the rates are validated find rates, not vendor claims. Rates for tools we haven't benchmarked are estimates, clearly marked, and editable like everything else.

For every combination of tools we benchmarked, we use the overlap we measured on the same contacts. For everything else we use a conservative estimate, and total coverage can never exceed the best combined result we measured (about 90%): no stack finds emails that do not exist. The minimum credited to unbenchmarked tools matches the median unique contribution we measured in our benchmark.

Prices are list prices as of August 2026 and are editable in the calculator. Pay different rates? Edit any price and the results update.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about waterfall email enrichment: what it is, how to order providers, what it costs, and what find rates to expect.

What is waterfall enrichment?

Waterfall enrichment means finding contact data by trying several providers in sequence. Every row goes to the first provider, and whatever it cannot find passes to the next one. Teams do this because no single provider finds everything: in OrbiSearch's August 2026 email finder benchmark of 288 contacts, the best single tool found 79% of emails while seven tools combined reached about 90%.

What order should providers go in an email enrichment waterfall?

Cheapest cost per found email first. For a provider that charges per found email, that is simply its price. For a provider that charges per attempt, divide its price by its find rate. In our example scenario, sorting this way costs 46% less than the worst order while finding exactly the same emails.

How much does waterfall email enrichment cost?

Typically between about $1.30 and $5.00 per 1,000 found emails per step, depending on the provider, how it bills, and your monthly volume. The first step handles most of the volume, so its rate matters most. The calculator above computes the exact total for your providers and volume.

Why do some email finder providers charge per attempt and others per found email?

Charging per found email protects you from paying for misses, but the cost of those misses is built into a higher price per email. Charging per attempt works out cheaper per found email on a reasonable list: at OrbiSearch's August 2026 price of $1.01 per 1,000 attempts and a 79% find rate, that is about $1.28 per 1,000 found.

What find rate should I expect from an email enrichment waterfall?

Roughly 60% to 80% from a single good provider, and up to about 90% from several combined. Those figures come from OrbiSearch's August 2026 live-verified testing of seven tools on 288 real B2B contacts. Region matters: measured ceilings were about 92% for North America, 92% for EMEA, and 85% for APAC.
