We tested 7 email finders on the same 288 B2B contacts and re-verified every returned address live. Here's who finds the most emails that actually accept mail, how much the tools overlap, and the maximum coverage any combination can reach.

In an August 2026 test, OrbiSearch found a live-verified deliverable email for 79.2% of the 288 contacts, the highest rate of the 7 tools tested. The runner-up, Apollo, reached 71.5% once its answers were verified.
The biggest gap between claimed and verified results was Apollo's: the source sheet reports 78.8% found, and 71.5% of contacts survived live verification, a difference of 7.3 percentage points.
All 7 tools combined reach 89.6% coverage, so roughly one contact in ten has no findable, deliverable work email at all.
For buyers the practical read is simple: a claimed find rate is an upper bound. Either verify every address you buy before you send, or use a finder like OrbiSearch that only returns emails it has already live-verified.
The findings above come from this table. Every tool ranked, with the rate it claims next to the rate that survived live verification, so you can look up the tools you use today. The raw column is the found rate the source comparison sheet reports: the share of contacts each tool returned an email for. That is not what you can send to: when every returned address was re-verified, each database tool lost between about 2 and 7 percentage points, because stored answers decay as people change jobs and mailboxes are retired. OrbiSearch has no raw column, because every answer is verified live before it is returned, so what you see is what delivers.

In APAC, OrbiSearch and Apollo tie for the best verified rate at 72.3%, and every tool finds fewer valid emails there than in any other market. People Data Labs found no valid emails at all in the APAC sample (0.0% of 94 contacts).

All 7 tools combined reach 89.6% live-verified coverage on the same contacts. Most contacts the best tool misses are found by no tool at all: the other 6 tools together recover only 10.4 of the 20.8 percentage points OrbiSearch misses.
That is why long waterfalls add little: later steps only receive what everything before them missed, and most of those contacts are findable by no tool at all. Coverage tops out at 89.6% no matter how many tools you stack. The combined ceiling by market: 91.6% in North America, 91.9% in EMEA, and 85.1% in APAC.
One measured pairing as an example: OrbiSearch alone finds 79.2%, and adding Icypeas lifts combined coverage to just 80.2%.
If you run waterfall enrichment, put the strongest tool first: the first step decides most of your coverage and most of your cost. Early in the waterfall, per-attempt pricing usually beats per-found pricing, because a high find rate makes each attempt cheap per deliverable email. Returns fall fast after the first two or three steps, so add a tool only while it still pays for the new emails it brings. Order matters too: in our calculator's example scenario, running the same tools in the best order instead of the worst cut cost by more than 40% for the same emails.

The contact list. A publicly circulated comparison sheet of B2B contacts (name plus company domain) spanning NA, EMEA and APAC, originally assembled by one of the competitors as their own marketing material. Any selection bias in the list favors them, not us. Every rate on this page is computed on the same 288 B2B contacts from the source comparison sheet.
Our results took the customer path. All contacts were submitted through the public OrbiSearch API with a normal API key against production code, exactly like a customer CSV upload, with standard credit metering. No internal shortcuts.
One standard for everyone. A competitor answer counts as found only if it passed OrbiSearch live verification at benchmark time, or exactly matched our own live-verified find. 400 distinct competitor-returned addresses were re-verified this way. The raw columns alongside are the rates the source comparison sheet reports, so you can see both numbers.
