V3 Validation Engine: 75% fewer risky results
What changed
OrbiSearch V3 now validates approximately 75% of emails that our previous engine marked as "risky." These are catch-all emails where we previously could not find a conclusive or high-confidence signal about whether the mailbox exists.
Based on testing across a sample of 3.1 million real user emails, V3 resolves the majority of these into either "safe" or "invalid," giving you a definitive answer instead of an uncertain one.
What this means for your results
More of your contact database is now actionable. Emails that previously came back as "risky" now return a clear safe or invalid status, which means:
- Higher yield from your existing lists without additional data sourcing
- More prospects you can confidently include in outreach campaigns
- Fewer ambiguous results that force you to guess or discard
Bounce rates remain low. V3 does not achieve higher yield by lowering the bar for what counts as "safe." The improvement comes from better detection, not looser criteria.
How we validate accuracy
Before every release, we backtest our Validation Engine against large samples of known delivered and known bounced emails from real outreach campaigns. This ensures we maximise true positives (real mailboxes marked safe) while minimising false positives (non-existent mailboxes incorrectly marked safe) and false negatives (real mailboxes incorrectly marked invalid).
We do not rely on synthetic test data or internal benchmarks. Our ground truth comes from actual campaign sends where the delivery outcome is known.
Why our results may differ from other providers
If you compare OrbiSearch results to other providers, you may notice differences. This is usually because we apply more stringent criteria for what counts as "safe."
Some providers mark catch-all emails as "undeliverable" when they cannot confirm the mailbox exists, causing you to discard prospects that may be perfectly valid. We only mark an email as "safe" when we have found a conclusive or high-confidence signal. When we cannot determine mailbox existence, we tell you that explicitly rather than guessing. This approach protects your sender reputation at the cost of a slightly more conservative yield, which V3 now significantly closes the gap on.
